LISA TURNER: Lisa grew up taking things apart and playing with the boys. After graduating from college with a degree in English and a teaching certificate, she started a bicycle shop, attended night school for an engineering degree, and took on odd jobs in residential and commercial construction. Lisa dreamt about flying airplanes. In the mid-nineties, she bought the parts to build a kit airplane in her garage. Twenty months later she made a dream-come-true solo trip in her homebuilt craft from south Florida to Bar Harbor, Maine, to visit her family. Lisa met her antique aircraft restorer husband, Jerry Stadtmiller, in 1999 as she was beginning her second aircraft project. They married in 2003, and several years later moved to Hayesville, North Carolina. In 2006, Lisa started Your Achievement Coach, a coaching and teaching practice that focused on delivering planning skills to people wanting to reach their goals. Lisa believed that whether it was starting a business, writing a book, or building an airplane, developing the skills of disciplined planning and goal setting could get you there. Lisa said to her students, “Shine the light of possibility on your dream, and it will leap to action.” Lisa has worked for 3 major U.S. corporations at the executive level, most notably as Chief Training Officer for Tyco Fire and Security Services in Boca Raton, Florida, in the early 2000s. She was certified as an ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt and Quality Engineer; she holds a 50-ton coast guard captain's license, a private pilot license, and an FAA airframe and powerplant license (A&P). Most recently Lisa has been an Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer with MOOG Industrial Group in Murphy, North Carolina. Lisa holds a Doctor of Science in Management, a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy, a Masters in Business, and an Associate of Science in Engineering. Lisa is the home improvement columnist for the Clay County Progress. She began writing for them in June of 2010. Lisa has written and published two books, both available on Amazon. The first book was Team Steps Guide to Effective Problem Solving: A Step by Step Process to Turn Problems into Solutions, in 2015, and then House Keys: The Essential Homeowner’s Guide, in 2017. Lisa is currently working on a flying adventures memoir and hopes to complete and publish it on CreateSpace in 2018. See on Amazon: For more information, and to read some articles:
